WayLyn closure forces change to 2014 Golf Card

By Colin J. Campbell

As you are probably aware by now, WayLyn Golf Course is not going to open this spring. WayLyn has been one of our courses on the golf card since the first year. Wayne and Lynn Fletcher have been consistent supporters of the card, with an excellent offer and as sellers of the card year after year. We are sad to see the closure of their popular course. On behalf of all members of the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club we wish them well and our sincere thanks for outstanding community service.

ShadowMtnWaylyn not opening poses a problem. The cards have been printed and a number of cards have been sold. Thanks to the gracious participation from Shadow Mountain and the assistance of our golf card partner Ultimate Fundraising, we are replacing Waylyn with Shadow Mountain on the 2014 card with an excellent offer and Ultimate Fundraising is printing replacement cards at minimal cost to the club. These new cards will be in circulation before Friday, April 18.

For those individuals who have already purchased a 2014 card they will be able to exchange the old card for a new card at any of our selling locations or at the golf courses. All the courses on the card with the exception of the Fairmont courses will have replacement cards available.

Our advertising will be changed to reflect this addition to the card. Although we are sad to see Waylyn close and will miss them on the card the addition of Shadow Mountain is an exciting development that enhances the 2014 card and will add to the golfing experience of all our customers.

With the cooperation of the Drive, Snapd, e-KNOW and Facebook we will spread the word: Buy a 2014 Golf Care and support Rotary and our local golf courses; 2014 is going to be an exciting year for golf.

Thanks to our golf course partners, Ultimate Fundraising, all the card sellers and the members of Rotary for supporting this fundraising project.

Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club is celebrating 17 years of service to Cranbrook and the funds raised by our golf card are essential to the clubs community service projects.
