Whiteway Winter Festival Saturday
Invermere’s Kinsmen Beach is going to be a-buzz with outdoor activities tomorrow (January 3) as the Lake Windermere Whiteway Winter Festival gets underway.

The Whiteway, now the longest skating trail in the world, as per Guinness Book of World Records, will be front and central in the fun, which gets underway at 10 a.m. with the Kids Cross-Country Ski Try It Session.
The festival runs until 2 p.m., with music, activities such as fat bike, Nordic skate and snowshoe demonstrations, as well as adult cross-country skiing lessons and speed skating lessons.
There will also be a 12 p.m. lunch and hot chocolate fundraiser for event-sponsoring the Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club.
At 1 p.m., join Kimberley resident and former Olympic speed skater Ingrid Liepa and skate, run, bike or walk as far as you can or wish on the Lake Windermere Whiteway.
