Invermere’s Kinsmen Beach and Lake Windermere were alive with the sights and sounds of outdoor winter recreation last weekend (Jan. 17-19).

Starting Friday evening with the fifth annual Snowflake Festival and grand opening of the 30^th annual Bonspiel-on-the-Lake, the weekend was once again a great time to experience all the joys of frozen Lake Windermere – with many residents and visitors availing themselves of the Whiteway trail around the lake and 64 teams taking part in the world’s longest-running outdoor bonspiel.

Friday evening’s Snowflake Festival once again featured A Taste of Invermere, along with live music, warming bonfires and heaps of wonderful fresh air.
