2012 in the East Kootenay

One of the most enjoyable aspects of weaving the digital tapestry that is East Kootenay News Online Weekly is being able to get out and about in the paradise we call home.

As a photographer, it is a veritable Disneyland of imagery collection.

We travel around the region in order to attend special events and cover news as it is happening. As a result of all this travel, we capture images along the way – with the hope of being able to present a monthly picture of what it was like in the East Kootenay.

Each month is a completely different set of circumstances and challenges, whether it’s lousy light, tight schedules or simply bad timing. Good photography is often all about good timing, or good luck, and the sheer volume of miles we put on in a year ensures that, too.

The following 100 images are some of our favourites from 2012 in the East Kootenay.

Images contained in this collection are by: Ian Cobb/e-KNOW; Carrie Schafer/Through My Eyes Photography and the wicked shot of a Marysville sunset by Jim Webster of Kimberley.

Please remember: you are welcome to submit images to e-KNOW to be included in our monthly feature. The images must be of subjects within the boundary of the East Kootenay (or near as be damned) and should be good sized files (200 to 300 dpi). E-mail Jpegs to: [email protected] .
