A Father’s Day wander around Fort Steele
Check out the fort Canada Day
Fort Steele Heritage Town isn’t just a local treasure – it’s one of the finest heritage sites in North America. It’s also one heck of a lot of fun to shoot – as a photographer.
On Sunday, June 16 (Father’s Day), Fort Steele hosted a special celebration, featuring a gold panning and nail driving competition, as well as offer full-regalia in terms of seasonal highlights such as the train rolling, volunteers/actors in traditional garb, lights on the stage at Wildhorse Theatre (The Great Cattle Caper), a barbecue near the train station and much more.
Additionally, the North West Mounted Police Commemorative Association was set up by the Gazebo, with a tent encampment on display. And Sage Grass performed on the gazebo throughout the day.
Fort Steele is also once again hosting a special Canada Day celebration, Monday, July 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (See schedule here: https://fortsteele.ca/calendar/event/311/ )
