Food has always been an important part of my life.  I grew up in Cranbrook and I know for certain that there has never been a shortage of restaurants, cafes and bars to dine at.  This past month I decided I would visit three restaurants on the first three Saturdays for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Let me just tell you I was thrilled with my findings.

The first restaurant I went to was a fairly popular one right on the highway.  I felt it was so convenient for travellers and locals alike because of its location.  I ordered a chicken burger and a cocktail and both were fantastic.  The burger was perfectly cooked and had great flavour!  The cocktail was very unique and had lots of extra touches on it.  My server was a dream.  She was so helpful in picking something to eat and checked on me frequently.

The atmosphere was great too. There were lots of families with small children, plenty of work parties in the pub section, many older couples enjoying a quiet date night. Overall it was a great place to stop for a quick bite!

Next Saturday I stopped for breakfast at a cafe downtown.  Boy oh boy they had the best cinnamon rolls I had ever tasted!  The staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome right away.  I was able to sit outside and watch as the downtown area started filling with people.  Many customers came in on their way to work to grab a coffee.  That was my favourite part of this cafe because you had the option to sit there and eat or take it to go.

I decided to travel the globe for lunch on my third Saturday.  It was hard to choose as Cranbrook has such a wide variety of cuisine from different countries.  I chose a Greek restaurant on the highway.  Let me start off by saying they had the best pizza in the world.  I wish I could have eaten six of them all at once!  I was pleased at how quickly my food was prepared.  It had a nice open atmosphere and looked very family friendly.

Overall I was thrilled to find these three places.  I know that there are many more that are just as good!  Hopefully I will have the opportunity to visit them all sometime soon!
