First Winter Market well attended
The first Kimberley Winter Market, held Sunday afternoon (Feb. 17) at the Kimberley Conference and Athlete Training Centre, was by all accounts a splendid success.
The beautiful hall was filled with displays and demonstration booths, with a couple of other meeting rooms occupied by the Kimberley Independent School, providing activities for the youngsters.
Many of the businesses and organizations displaying their services/wares had a summer bent going – as part of the purpose of the market was to promote Kimberley’s summer features.
Run in conjunction with Alberta’s Family Day weekend and organized by the Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies and Kimberley Conference and Athlete Training Centre, the five-hour market was a hit with vacationing skiers and snowboarders, with many tromping about in downhill apparel.
