Panorama announces new professional development program

Panorama Mountain Village is excited to launch its first-ever professional development program for the ski industry.

The Panorama Mountain Academy will offer a fast track into the ski industry for those seeking to become snow sport instructors or professional ski patrol. Programs range in duration from 1 month to the entire season and will offer training towards CSIA and CASI Level 1 and 2 instructor certification, as well as, a professional ski patrol certification. The instructor side of the academy offers a season long internship program, allowing candidates to gain experience in the industry while working towards their accreditation.

The academy is operated directly by both the Snow School and the Ski Patrol Department at Panorama providing an opportunity for participants to work closely with the professionals in the field on a daily basis. Essentially, participants will have a backstage pass to the realities of the industry, receiving invaluable training and insights. Very few programs offer the level of transparency of Panorama Mountain Academy.

Participants will live slope-side in true ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Right outside the door awaits over 4,000 vertical feet and 3,000 skiable acres that offer everything from incredible cruising to exhilarating black diamond alpine bowls. Panorama’s charm lies in the lack of crowds, making it the perfect place to hone skills and experience the alpine environment in a truly intimate way.

“Whether you are embarking on a gap year, contemplating a career change, or looking for an extended vacation, a season pursing your passions in the mountains of British Columbia could be just what you need”, states Jason Simpson, Panorama Snow School Director.
