Second Columbia Salmon Festival a colourful weekend
The second annual Columbia Salmon Festival was held last weekend (Sept. 28-30) at the Lakeshore Resort and Campground and Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.
Focusing on the salmon that once powered their way from the Pacific Ocean up the Columbia River to its headwaters in the Columbia Valley, as well as the salmon that are trapped behind the dams (kokanee), the festival is a swirl of fascinating information, colourful cultural displays (Ktunaxa Nation and inter-tribal) and plenty of fun for the kids.
The following images were captured Saturday afternoon (Sept. 29) at Lakeshore Resort.
