Two for one for 150
Visitors to Canada’s national parks are in for a bonus when they purchase an annual pass this year.
For those purchasing a Parks Canada Discovery Pass in 2016, they are also covering up 2017’s visit costs as passes will carry a two-year span in honour of Canada’s 150th year in confederation (2017).

Discovery Passes, allowing for unlimited entry to any and all national parks and historic sites, cost $136.40 for a family, $67.70 for an adult, $57.90 for a senior and $33.30 for a youth.
The two-for-one pass deal will be for all national parks and historic sites. The two-year span reaches from date of purchase.
The East Kootenay is home to one of Canada’s four jewels – the mountain national parks. Kootenay National Park, abutting Yoho National Park (east of Golden) and Banff National Park, is 1,406-square-kilometres of wilderness, traversed by Highway 93, with Radium Hot Springs the western entrance.
Canada has 45 national parks.
Other national parks close to the East Kootenay are Waterton Lakes National Park in southwest Alberta and Glacier National Park near Revelstoke.
