Village Market adds to The Platzl
The Platzl, in the heart of downtown Kimberley, is a lively place in the summertime as tourists pack the pedestrian-only complex, while residents of the city of 6,500 go about their business.
Add in a weekly market with a nice variety of vendors adding to the mix of shops and restaurants in The Platzl and an already lively place takes on a festival atmosphere.
Every Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Kimberley Village Market and its participants take The Platzl to a fun new place.
On August 7, beneath a stellar mid summer blue sky, e-KNOW took a photo tour through the market.
Standing out from the variety of images that captured our eye was Rowen’s Lemonade Stand, complete with fresh lemons and apples and other treats, all served with the most polite demeanor and an angel’s smile. Rowen, a Kimberley resident, sets up her stand to earn money for a mountain bike, her mom told e-KNOW.
Kimberley Village Market runs from June 19 to September 4.
