Wasa is planning its first Winter Festival at the Wasa and District Lion’s Pete Vereshagen Memorial Rink on December 31, from noon to 4 p.m.

Everyone is invited to come out and celebrate this new community jewel and the arrival of the New Year.

There will be fun and games for the whole family, including hot dogs, bannock and hot chocolate, as well as a nice bonfire to help keep you warm.

The celebration will be capped with an 8 p.m. fireworks display over the lake.
