The New Moon in Aries is recognized to be the official launch into spring, according to many traditions.

Spring Equinox itself represents the crack of dawn – that moment when the sun’s light peeks over the horizon, where even the smallest portion of the sun’s disk casts a blinding light, as to officially ignite the day. This can also be compared to an illustrious, sparkling diamond on a ring. Yet, the residual influence of Pisces is symbolic of the sleepy, half awake and groggy feeling one often feels upon awakening.

The New Moon in Aries is like morning coffee. The New Moon chart hosts five planets in Aries. Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars are all very closely aligned and Uranus is there too. So, as splendid and marvelous as the actual and archetypal igniting light of daybreak is, the New Moon chart taken as a whole is the deeper story right now and it is quite complex.

Uranus in close 90-degree aspect (square) to Pluto and Jupiter in close Square Aspect to Chiron are some of the main factors. Uranus and Pluto represent a deep revolutionary theme that dawned in late summer 2011 synchronizing with the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ uprising that spread across the globe. This charged interaction will continue through to late 2015. The Jupiter/Chiron Square represents a revolutionary theme where social justice and cultural healing issues are implied. The Venus/Mars factor brings with it raw sex drive and ambition, pushing aside purely romantic sentiments. So here we go, the lit fuse of spring 2013 has reached the fireworks, or the dynamite, as the case may be. Incidentally, this Aries New Moon will wax to Full in Scorpio as a Lunar Eclipse. How simply snaky!

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

Like the season you are on a dynamic roll now. Your passions are running high inspiring you to explore. Dreams of what might be are dancing in your thoughts. Yet you are changing as well. Not only your looks, but your style, desires, passions, interests and goals are all undergoing a metamorphosis.

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)

Visions of a bigger and brighter future are formulating in your mind. To this end you are going for the power in whatever way that makes sense to you. Creative plans are gestating and are a source of excitement. The past couple of years have been especially expansive and you are intent upon perpetuating the momentum.

Gemini (May 21 – June 21)

Renewed friendships and longings for love and life are all playing on your emotions. You are ready to do what you must to increase your options. This includes taking a few risks. The future beckons and it is important that you be willing to break through inner and outer lines of resistance. This will become increasingly true as this month unfolds.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

A big green light is shining in front of you. This represents a significant go-ahead opportunity. If you have been waiting for the opening, this is it. Yet, a learning curve is implied. Be ready and willing to gather tools, equipment and/or training as necessary. Take the initiative yet maintain an even pace until you feel confident to accelerate.

Leo (July 22 – Aug 23)

Your sights are set on new horizons. This implies that you will enter new territory, not only literally but in your beliefs and philosophy as well. Yet be careful not to scatter your focus and energies, which is likely now. Remain as concentrated as you can to bring to completion existing projects while planning and preparing for new ventures.

Virgo (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Something ends and something begins. This eternal law of renewal, of change linked to death and rebirth is a deep message and one that is underway for you now. Yet this change may simply be the end of old attitudes, perceptions, modes of behaviour, lifestyle rhythms and so on. Tune-in and co-operate co-creatively.

Libra (Sep 22 – Oct 22)

A powerful seed has been planted in your relationship life. Expect the new sprouts to emerge by the next Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse by the way. It is possible that an issue that may emerge is more than one love interest. Either way, the emotions it stirs and the visions it arouses stand to be large indeed.

Scorpio (Oct 22 – Nov 21)

A fresh spark in your usual routine is igniting new passions. These will have revolutionary implications and will shift you into high gear. Deciphering which direction to take may prove challenging, however, as you will likely be enticed by two at least and perhaps even several. With some inventiveness you may be able to have it all.

Sagittarius (Nov 21 – Dec 21)

The trumpets are ringing on the airwaves announcing that the games are about to begin. An exciting and stimulating if dramatic cycle has begun. The nature of cycles is that there are ever many and they overlap so this may simply be adding to current momentums. Compare it to a day at an amusement park and now it is time to ride the rollercoaster.

Capricorn (Dec 21 – Jan 19)

Something big, exciting and yet dramatic, even earth shaking is shifting things around close to home. House renovations, additions to the family, new projects and/or ventures are underway and evident to all who are invited to enter in. If you are planning an important launch of some kind, it may however be best to wait until early summer.

Aquarius (Jan 19 – Feb 19)

The seeds of new perceptions and perspectives have been sown. These will become more evident very soon, a week, maybe two. These will impact your personal life, perhaps especially in the romance department. New prospects, adventures and love are all likely. These will all prove very energizing and will feel large.

Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Your ambitions are being spurred from a trot to a full gallop. The season and perhaps even the entire year have been off to a slower start than usual. But that phase has come to a close. The quiet, still snake has begun to move with determination. The shift could come as a surprise and be full of drama, intrigue and excitement.
