Happy Spring Equinox! The season officially began on March 20 at 4:02 a.m. PST this year. Some are sighing with relief because there were some concerns linked to the new round of the Mayan Long Count Calendar bringing with it some surprises. Yet, this could prove premature.

The announcement of Comet Ison, discovered last year, reported to have an 11,000 year cycle, is scheduled to light-up our skies in late November. The word is that it will be as much as 15 times as bright as the Moon and will be visible in broad daylight for at least two months, crossing over into 2014!

Some researches assert that it is the first among equals in that it is accompanied by several others. Comets generally have highly elliptical orbits and are rather unpredictable. Although large, they do not have the mass of a planet or moon and so are susceptible to outer influence. That this event is set to occur within the scope of the first annual cycle marked by Winter Solstice 2012 is brow raising. Could there have been a calculation mistake? Is 2013 the year perhaps that the great cycle is meant to occur? After all, the cycle is almost 26,000 years long. With so many weather anomalies occurring all over the world, the world is hardly ‘back to normal’. Meanwhile, the new Pope voted in on the heels of a controversial resignation while Mercury was retrograde and with the Moon Void-of Course in Aries and the last aspect a Square to Pluto on March 13, a date, which altogether adds to 13, contributes more intrigue to this snaky year. Closer to home, the actions, some would say the antics, of our federal government linked to plans to dismantle CBC has prompted the song “What Up Steve” to go viral on the net. Wow, blast off!

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

The sleeper has awakened! Okay, so maybe you have just been having a nap. There is reason to say it has not been as peaceful as would be hoped. Much has been stirring within and not you are more prepared to deal with the cloudy waters. The clearing will take a while yet but as it clears you will see as with new eyes!

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)

You have entered what may be deemed a delicate cycle. How you proceed now is extra important. An increasingly conservative attitude and approach is rising. You might even call it secretive or hidden. You may prefer to bluff than show your cards. Patience in your approach is ideal now and you may be required to exercise some stall tactics.

Gemini (May 21 – June 21)

The world is opening quickly now. The future beckons and you are eager to answer the call. You have perhaps had to contend with some confusion about where in the world you are meant to be. Where is your power position? You still may not feel completely sure. One thing is for sure, your feet are itching and you are inspired to explore new territory.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

You have reflected and pondered and dreamed some dreams and now it is time to take more deliberate action. Ironically, your first best move may be to remain still so that you can recall all that has come down. Include in your reflections clear intentions to gather the tools, knowledge and key contacts required to implement your dream visions into reality.

Leo (July 22 – Aug 23)

The current stage or purification is just about over now. A deeper, long-term process of healing will continue, however. Accept this and do what you can to consciously and cooperatively engage. In other respects a spirit of adventure is rising. You are ready for some adventure. Travel is implied and you will feel inspired to go far.

Virgo (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Recent shifts, changes and quakes on relationship fronts are entering their next effective stage. With your ambitions steadily on the rise you are ready to take proactive initiatives. Some call it a fever; others say it is spring. Either way, you can feel it pulsing in your veins. Taking a few risks is ever the road to success yet it remains important that these be calculated.

Libra (Sep 22 – Oct 22)

The focus is shifting from creating refinements in your daily rhythms to relationship interactions. If things have been slow in that department the pace is about to change. This veritable 180 degree turn may take a couple of weeks to fully turn but it has already begun. Review your health plan to ensure its reliability then go out and meet new people.

Scorpio (Oct 22 – Nov 21)

That creative reservoir that accumulated over the past several weeks is now spilling over. This is the sign that it is time to take action. This probably already began a couple of weeks ago and the momentum continues to build. Work with this energy pattern with emphasis on the word work. When the stakes are high your ambitions soar like an eagle.

Sagittarius (Nov 21 – Dec 21)

The signs of spring are not only apparent outside. You can feel the thaw at core levels. An inspirational flow is replacing the winter freeze. You feel playful and bold and aroused. Scratching the itch to explore is rivalled only by that to engage. The time is right to broaden your horizons and this means getting out to meet the people.

Capricorn (Dec 21 – Jan 19)

Many ideas and plans have been germinating and have now entered their gestation phase. The signs should be extra evident close to home. This may be creating a stir with family members. Yet, you are on a determined roll and there is no turning back. A main focus now it to make effective use of the knowledge and tools that you have gathered.

Aquarius (Jan 19 – Feb 19)

A major review of your values and priorities, and who and what you believe, and do not, continues. Yet, you are also ready to spring into action. Entertaining new prospects and possibilities and people is on your mind. With your energy levels rising, you feel inspired to explore. Curiosity is in the mix and if unchecked could prove igniting.

Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

An assertive cycle is steadily rising. Already your ambitions have been sparked and with them your aspirations. Whether by choice or circumstance, probably both, the time has come to explore new territory and take new approaches. Sometimes the adjustments are subtle but it is your challenge to make them sure.
