Parker’s Nature
By Shawn Parker
The smallest, gutsiest bird I know of is the chickadee. While other birds far larger than it are flying south to escape the ravages of winter, these little dudes stay put. I don’t know how they do it? I don’t know where they spend the nights? Why don’t they freeze up solid? But I see these guys hanging around outside on our birdfeeder, almost every day. They sit in the tree, singing their songs. Sure a hell of a lot better than listening to crows squawk!
