keep me out of it
the birds don’t need me
they are doing fine
the clouds and stars
keep going around.
the lake is still
hanging in there
it swallowed a car
the other day
one more indignity
to suffer.
the mountains
seem undisturbed
regardless of the shit
happening all
around them.
the grizzlies and i
have an agreement
so far it has been
working out.
i wonder what they
would make of
the self proclaimed
community leaders
the politicians
the assholes
educated and trained
over their short lifetimes
to exploit their assets.
would they beg
say take it easy?
submit to the lack
of decency?
my money is on the mountains
the wind twisted tamaracks
forgotten by loggers
scarred by lightening
they’ve been around awhile
they must know something.
