Winter sky
By Bob Ede
There is something magical about getting away from valley lights and travelling into the mountains to gaze at the sky. So many constellations; Orion holds court throughout. Jupiter wanders. The Milky Way runs a ribbon across the night.
There is contentment in distance and relationship. It only takes a short while of observing and distance disappears and we are cast into the swarm of stars that is the winter’s night.
Bob Ede prefers winter because it gets dark early, he can look at the stars, and still hit the sack at a decent hour. More of his writing and photography can be found at www.palliserpass.wordpress.com.
