Mommy’s Weird

This summer while visiting my parents, Whirlwind found a photo of me on my parents’ dresser.
“Do you know who this is?” I asked.
“Yes.” She answered and then paused; “Is it you Mommy?”
“Yup.” I said as I continued tidying up our bedroom disaster.
“Mommy?” She asked quietly.
“Mm hmm.”
” I wish I could have played with you when you were younger.”
“Me too.” I told her as I gave her a big snuggle.
As sweet at this moment was, are you KIDDING ME? I am so glad we weren’t friends. We would have KILLED each other. And I am especially glad we are unable to be teenagers together. We would have burnt the town down.
Imagine our 18th birthday parties!
I tell you.
But, I know we would have been best friends. And best friends pick each other up from ditches, bar toilets and jails.
Girl, I take it all back. I wish I could have played with you too. We would have rocked this joint.
