Winter storm warning take two

Sorry Elk Valley residents but Environment Canada has issued another winter storm warning for the area.

Hazardous winter conditions are expected as an intense Pacific warm front will bring heavy snow to most of the Columbia and Kootenay districts tonight through Thursday. Total snowfall accumulations of at least 25 cm are expected.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Environment Canada says the Cranbrook area can expect five centimetres of snow today and tomorrow and Friday’s forecast is cloudy with a 40% chance of showers. The forecast is similar for the Columbia Valley.
