Cranbrook RCMP Report

rcmplogoThe following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) July 18 to 6 a.m., July 25.

The detachment received 158 calls for service throughout that period.

Among the calls police handled…

Four impaired drivers – two involving cannabis and two with alcohol.

Four collisions: two collisions involved alcohol where one driver given an immediate roadside prohibition (90 days) and the other where the driver was charged for refusing to provide a breath sample. The other two collisions resulted in charges for both incidents.

One hit and run incident: Suspect located, registered owner charged with traffic offence.

13 Mental Health Act calls – two apprehended.

Five assault complaints: one domestic in nature; one was a neighbour dispute which one person was arrested and also resulted in five marijuana plants seized.

13 thefts reported: two of these were shoplifting events/ one from construction yard/ three thefts from vehicles/ one theft of truck but recovered the same day in town (driver had left his keys in the truck unlocked); six other thefts that range from garden rake, empty cans/bottles/ purse/ cell phone/ validation tag for a vehicle/ bicycle/ jerry cans.

Two Break and Enters to residence reported. One was unfounded and the other B&E was solved, with property recovered and four youth subjects identified as suspects; charges forthcoming.

One break and enter to Canadian Tire (see separate story).

Two reports of property damage: vehicle and a sign post.

Three drug seizures – all marijuana.
