The annual election of the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) board chair and vice chair was held Nov. 4 and Electoral Area C Director Rob Gay will continue on as chair for 2017.

“I am honoured to be re-elected as chair for the coming year. It is a role I have thoroughly enjoyed and I appreciate the continued confidence of my fellow Directors,” said Gay. This will be the Electoral Area C Director’s sixth term as RDEK Chair. He has been on the board since 2005.

Electoral Area F Director Wendy Booth was re-elected as vice chair for a fifth term. “I look forward to continuing to work with Chair Gay and the board to advance our priorities for the coming year,” she said.

Both Gay and Booth were acclaimed.
