Another first place clash tonight

KIJHL update

It’s another battle for first place in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s (KIJHL) Eddie Mountain Division this evening when the Kimberley Dynamiters take on the Creston Valley Thunder Cats at the Johnny Bucyk Arena.

The Thunder Cats are currently two points up on the Dynamiters, with both clubs entering game 21 on the schedule. The Cats have a 15-3-1-1 record, while the Nitros are 15-5.

Keeping things interesting in the Eddie Mountain are the Fernie Ghostriders, entering tonight’s game in Invermere against the Columbia Valley Rockies firmly in third place at 12-7.

The Rockies have picked things up a bit of late but are still struggling along at 5-11-3.

Both games begin at 7:30 p.m.

Kimberley returns home to the Civic Centre Saturday (Nov. 19) for a tilt against the Grand Forks Border Bruins. Game time is 7 p.m. The Border Bruins (9-7-2-2) are currently in second place in the Neil Murdoch Division.

The Ghostriders head home Saturday for a game against the struggling Golden Rockets (4-17). Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Rockies welcome the Nelson Leafs, third in the Neil Murdoch (8-11-2) to the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena, with the puck drop at 7:30 p.m.

Creston hosts the 10-8 Castlegar Rebels at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Nov. 22 the Rockies host the Thunder Cats. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
