Parker’s Nature
By Shawn Parker
So once again I head up to look for those damn owls. I got to the tree with the pileated woodpecker nest, and set up the tripod and was clicking away, when this lady with this Czech couple and their kid walk by. She tells me she sees the owls a lot. So I tag along and spot the owls. It was awesome. I’ve never seen an owl that close up. I couldn’t get the leaf off the first guy’s face; he was down the hill and couldn’t get him from another angle. But if it’s a bright sunny day soon, I’ll head up there again. I’ll at least get shots of the pileated chicks;
hoping mom will stop by also.
