Gerhard Franz Miller passed away at the Elk Valley Hospital on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the age of 86.
Gert is survived by his loving wife Donna, his children: Ursula Palumbo, Elisabeth (Robert) Kitchen, and Ken (Cassie Rowse), and stepchildren Brad Sturrock (Joan Hedrich), Heather (Jay) Quattrin, and Brenda Sturrock as well as 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Rudi (Inga) Schlottermueller who resides in Germany, and his brother-in-law Doug (Kerry) Grinder as well as 3 nieces and a nephew. Gert was predeceased by his parents, Rosa and Albin Schlottermueller, and daughter Lydia Anslow.

Gert was a heavy-duty mechanic by trade. He worked for many years in various mines as well as for CNR before his retirement. In his spare time, Gert was and avid skier and golfer. He was also a member of the Elk’s Lodge for 38 years, and enjoyed many years volunteering for the Fernie Ski Racers. Gert will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
