Lower South Hill next up for water main flushing

Water utility customers in the lower part of Cranbrook’ s South Hill area can expect to experience some water discolouration periodically over the next week, as the City of Cranbrook moves its annual water main flushing program there today.

The area affected by the flushing is from 14th Street South to 17th Street South, between 13th Avenue South and 16th Avenue South.

Some customers may experience discolouration in the water for a short period while this flushing work is done. If you do have discolouration, please run your coldwater tap until the water runs clear. This discolouration is not a public health concern.

The annual flushing program is done each year to ensure water mains are clear of sediment in order to provide the best water quality possible to your home and business. The city will provide updates regularly so you know where the flushing program is moving to next. The city expects to have this work completed by late August.

The City of Cranbrook appreciates the patience and understanding of our residents and businesses as this important flushing program unfolds.
