Obituary for Lorraine Holmes
Lorraine Holmes
Lorraine knew from a very young age, she wanted to be a teacher. After studying at York University and the University of Alberta, she began her career in Rosemary, Alberta, followed by several years with the Calgary Catholic School District. When she fell in love with Peter she moved to Invermere and together they created a welcoming, inviting home in the beautiful Columbia Valley filled with laughter, stray animals, and many friends. Lorraine joined the Windermere School District as teaching children remained her passion throughout her life. Lorraine was a generous, artistic, creative person, who smiled easily and laughed often. She loved her family, friends, students, their dog Cookie, and always, Peter, the love of her life. Lorraine’s creativity and joy for life radiated through all that she did. We will miss Lorraine dearly as her presence in this world made life better for all of us.
A funeral mass will be held in Calgary, Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St. Bonaventure Church, 1600 – Acadia Drive SE.
