Edward “John” Mason

With broken hearts the family of John announce his passing suddenly on November 11, 2017. Johnnie was born in Edmonton, AB. April 5, 1969 and moved to Nanaimo, B.C. when he was 2. He played soccer as a young boy and later moved to Cranbrook where he enjoyed softball, hockey, beer and the Dog Pound.

John is survived by his three older children, Chelsie, Brett, Brodie, (their mom Tanis) and his Grandson Noah, wife Kari & their son Shawn. Also by his mother Anne Mason (Phil) father Ted Mason, his brother Shawn (Maude) and sister Shannon (Greg), stepsister Corinne, stepbrother Murray and Maternal Grandmother Joy Ward, Auntie Mair, Uncle Dave and Auntie Midge Mason, and his niece Brianne Veitenheimer. John was predeceased by his niece Cheyenne Mason-McMahon, Paternal Grandparents Ed & Laura Mason, his Aunt Jennie Cowan, and Maternal Grandfather Gordon Ward, he will also be sadly missed and fondly remembered by numerous cousins, extended family members and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to an organization of your choice in John’s name.

An informal celebration of John’s life will be held on Sunday November 26, 2017 between 1-4 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at the Prestige Rocky Mountain Resort in Cranbrook, 209 Van Horne St.
