Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Jan. 22 to 6 a.m., Jan. 29.
Police handled 133 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
One impaired driving: alcohol.
Eight collisions. three in the city and five outside the city.
One hit and run: suspect driver located and charged; vehicle towed as no valid insurance.
Two assaults:One domestic in nature resulting in a charge; and one assault with a weapon where the victim was uncooperative; no significant injuries in either case.
Seven Mental Health Act related calls: One apprehension.
Six thefts.
Two shoplifting.
Two thefts from auto: One incident where passenger window was smashed and Nikon camera and lens; GoPro4; toiletries; snorkel gear; and sleeping bags were stolen; and one incident occurred two weeks ago.
One theft of auto: One male in custody.
One theft other: unfounded.
Three damage to property: neighbour dispute;mischief to a vehicle; damage to a door at local hotel.
14 false alarms and false 911 calls.
