Ellen “Nellie” Lightburn of Jaffray, BC passed away at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, on Friday, February 9, 2018. She was 98.

Nellie was born in Caithness, BC on August 12, 1919. She lived in Jaffray and spent her entire life there, serving on numerous community groups and services.

Nellie was predeceased by her parents Billy and Mary Ann Barr, her siblings Mary, Jean and Eddie, her husband Ernie, and her son Ted.

Nellie is survived by her son Rick (Nina), her daughter-in-law Marge, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Nellie will be held at the Jaffray Community Hall on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Country 4-H Club, PO Box 115, Grasmere, BC, V0B 1R0.
