Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) March 5 to 6 a.m., March 12.
Police handled 122 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
One collision in the city: minor in nature.
Six collisions outside the city: all occurred March 8 and 9 due to poor highway conditions.
Two hit and runs: both very minor in nature.
Four assaults: two domestic reports where both resulted in charges; one assault by family member; one fight between acquaintances.
Three Mental Health Act related calls: one assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
10 thefts.
Three shoplifting.
Two theft from auto: including theft of rear plate and one vehicle rummaged through; vehicle was left unlocked.
Five theft other: including theft of a jacket from Western Financial Place; theft by employee times two … employee fired in each instance; one theft unfounded; and a theft by known associates of victim.
One break and enter to business: unfounded event.
One break and enter other: a garage was broken into.
Four damage to property: spray paint and damage at Confederation Park; mischief to police phone in cell; damage to sign on the strip; window shot with pellet or bb gun.
Two drug seizures: marijuana and cocaine.
16 false alarms and false 911 calls.
