Watch for spring highway maintenance: Mainroad
Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting Ltd. is asking motorists and the travelling public to watch out for crews performing spring highway maintenance activities.
Crews will be conducting bridge washing, drainage inspection, grading on side roads, pothole repairs, road sweeping and sign replacement.
Typically, this work is scheduled during non-peak traffic periods. When approaching roadside crews, drive with extreme care, stay alert, minimize distractions, and show respect for the person working at the side of the road.
“We’d like to remind everyone to watch for signage, cone zoned work areas, traffic control personnel and slow-moving vehicles – please slow down. Keep in mind that frost and ice can still be present on the roads even if it does look and feel like winter is over. Before heading out, listen to local media traffic reports and visit www.DriveBC.ca for the latest road conditions,” notes Al Sander, General Manager, for Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting.
