The Cranbrook Community Forest Society (CCF) is hosting a grand opening ceremony for the new Gateway Trail on Saturday, June 2 at 2 p.m.

The ceremony will take place at College of the Rockies Cranbrook Upper Parking Lot.

You are invited for the opening of the 1.8 km trail from the college to Sylvan Lake; easy walking or biking.

The Dean Smith Trio 
will provide music starting from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and a ribbon cutting will commence at 2 p.m.

There will be great draw prizes, a
tour and information about the trail and the CCF at 2:30 p.m.

In addition, learn near encounter tips with bears by Danica Roussey, WildSafeBC and 
information on invasive species with Janine and Serena from East Kootenay Invasive Species Council.
