Sparwood’s biggest community party of the year begins Thursday, June 7 and runs through to Sunday, June 10.

Coal Miner Days celebrates Sparwood’s heritage and highlights the great amenities offered by the town.

Coordinated by the Coal Miner Days Society, the event has something for everyone from sporting events to a petting zoo and everything in between.

While the weekend is packed with events, the main day remains Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. with the Lions Pancake Breakfast, leading to the parade at 11 a.m. through to the Teck BBQ (pictured above) and a host of events and activities from Centennial Square down to the Recreation Centre.

And to close the day it is the CMD Cabaret with country music recording star Aaron Pritchett performing, back up by Seany J and the Boys.
