The CDAC Gallery in July

The Cranbrook and District Arts Council’s July exhibit showcases the work or Tex (Edwin) Wiebe.

Big, colourful representations of some of the Kootenay’s favourite fauna, bears and fish, brighten the gallery for this month. A reception for Tex will be held at the end of this exhibit, July 28 and we invite the public to come down and meet the artist behind these beautiful pieces.

The biography on his website states, “Edwin (Tex) Wiebe is a self-taught contemporary artist whose passion for nature is detailed vividly through multimedia art. From alpine British Columbia and plains of Alberta to the Coast of Mexico, Edwin paints from a mixture of memory, and photo reference. Detailed without exception, his paintings are a reflection of himself and his life.”

The Gallery kitchen is busy with children’s classes for the summer.  In our small space, with room for very limited numbers, Colleen is able to allow every child to create in their own individual way and this makes Colleen’s classes very popular. Please call to see if there is space, well before the dates you would like. Please see our Facebook post or webpage for dates for classes.

Louise is busy lining up some new classes for the fall and if you have requests, please let us know.

We look forward to the work of Laura Leeder in August and September is our member’s exhibit of mixed media.
