Dief/Opa/Dad passed away peacefully at home in Skookumchuck surrounded by family on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the age of 86.

Dief was born in Leipzig, Germany to Martin and Rosa Diefenbach, and immigrated to Canada in 1956. In 1976 he married Sally and adopted her three children Deanne, Allen and Amy. Most will remember him as a strong hard working man, in his hard hat smelling of wood chips and with his ever present cigarette, as the face of Mardis Logging. He was a story teller and loved to regale family and friends with his stories of his long and colourful life.

Werner was predeceased by his brother Guenther and his wife Sally, He will be greatly missed by his daughters Deanne and Amy and their respective spouses, his son Allen and his dear friend Juergen. He will also be leaving behind his grandsons Toni, Chris, Dustin and Steven and 7 cherished great grandchildren.

There will be no service at Werner’s request.
