Obituary for William Albert MAYOH

William Albert MAYOH

February 11, 1941 – June 20, 2018

William Albert “Bill” Mayoh was born in Saltcoats, SK on February 11, 1941. He was raised on a farm and attended school in Waldon.

Bill met Marlene Coleman in 1961 and they married in 1962. They had two children: Greg and Shannon in their early years in Saskatchewan. They moved to Fernie in 1969, and Tanya joined the family in 1976.
Bill enjoyed golf, hiking, and road trips with his family. He worked as a field accountant both directly for the mines and indirectly for companies that supported mining. His favorite job in later life was working for the Fernie Golf & Country Club as a groundskeeper/maintenance person.

Bill was known for his dry sense of humor and directness. He was an armchair traveller who liked to discuss world events, politics and the price of oil. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Frank and Hilda Mayoh. He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Marlene, 3 children: Greg, Shannon (Jim), and Tanya (Kuda), 4 grandchildren: Ty, Seth, Tinashe and Zola, and his brother Bud.
