Missing man located
Update: Mr Roberts has been located and has been taken to hospital.
An extensive ground and air search of the rural area east of Cranbrook was undertaken by the RCMP and Search and Rescue personnel after Mr. Roberts was reported missing.
At approximately 5 p.m., two members of the RCMP located Mr. Roberts near Pritchard Road east of Cranbrook. He was immediately transported to East Kootenay Regional Hospital for medical care.
Cranbrook RCMP would like to thank all of the organizations and citizens who helped with the search.
S/Sgt. Hector Lee Cranbrook RCMP Detachment Commander advised, “the extensive collaborative efforts to locate Jim resulted in a very positive outcome.”
Cranbrook RCMP is asking the publics assistance in locating a local Cranbrook resident.
On October 17, 72-year-old Jim Roberts was reported missing by family members after last being seen around 3 p.m.
Jim was last seen wearing a western style button up shirt, blue jeans, white running shoes and a grey/black Rocky Mountain Ranch hat. Jim might have a possible black hoodie with white writing on it. Jim has heart issues and requires medication on a regular basis.
