Catch Basins
The city is asking for the public’s help keeping snow, ice and debris off the catch basins. Please report any blocked catch basins to the Operations Department at 250-427-9660 or [email protected]
Preventing Melt Water Damage
Spring is here and the snow and ice is going to be melting quickly. To prevent damage from melt water, homeowners are encouraged to take action to protect their own property. Plan how to divert melt water away from buildings and keep that path clear. Sandbags can help direct water if needed. City crews will be prioritizing melt water issues and only be addressing melt water concerns on city property that may pose risk to private property. The city appreciates any and all help provided by the public in keeping catch basins working effectively during these melt water periods.
Dog Etiquette
Spring has sprung! Remember to pick up your dog’s excrement when walking your dog, and please use the bags provided and place it in the receptacles. If you notice that the bag holder is empty contact the Animal Control Officer at 250-427-6460. Please be conscientious of everyone who uses the trails, as no one likes to step in dog doo! Let’s all pitch in to keep our trails and streets clean and clear.
The Animal Control Officer would like to remind dog owners that your dog must be on leash at all times within the City of Kimberley, except for when you are using the designated off leash areas. Non-compliance with section 20 of the Animal Control Bylaw No. 2544, 2016 may result in a fine of $75 for a first offence and $150 for each subsequent offence. The Kimberley Nature Park, Lois Creek Trails and the Marysville Flats are all designated off-leash spaces to exercise your furry friends. Maintaining control and cleaning up after your dog still applies in these three off-leash areas. For more information about Animal Control, please visit https://bit.ly/2TUcoFJ.
