Fernie Search and Rescue (SAR) was tasked yesterday afternoon (Feb. 14) to attend to a stranded snowmobiler behind the microwave towers where his sled got stuck.

“The sledder was riding alone and unprepared for emergencies. Two Fernie SAR Techs flew out to rescue the man. Luckily he was in cell service to call 911,” Fernie SAR noted on social media.

“Be BC AdventureSmart : be prepared for the conditions you are in. Always carry the proper equipment and tools. Also, make a trip plan so others know where you are,” SAR advised.
