RCMP investigating theft and flight from police

Cranbrook RCMP is currently investigating a brazen daylight theft and flight from police.

In the early morning hours, Cranbrook RCMP received a call to a theft of bottles from a residence in the 900-block of 6th St S.  An unknown male and female went through a closed gate onto a deck and allegedly stole several bags of cans.  The caller notified the RCMP who made patrols.

RCMP located the suspect vehicle in the vicinity of the bottle depot. The officer initiated his lights and the pickup took off, weaving in and out of traffic in order to evade police.  RCMP was able to obtain photos of the suspects and the vehicle and is asking the public for assistance in identifying the couple, reported Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.

Cranbrook RCMP is also asking the public to be on the lookout for the truck associated to the theft. It is described as a red Ford F-350 dually pick up truck with a black box and doors. The license plate on the truck, BHN3269, had earlier been reported stolen out of Alberta.

Should anyone be able to identify the suspects, or if you see this truck, we ask that you contact the Cranbrook RCMP at 250-489-3471.
