SAR units team up to rescue seriously injured timber biker
Fernie and Sparwood Search and Rescue (SAR) teams were involved in a major overnight extrication for an injured timber biker last night.
The accident occurred in the McEvoy Creek area, a long way from the main trails, in the creek. It was called in via 911 around 5:30 p.m.
A 38-year-old male was eventually tobogganed out to Morrissey at around 230 a.m. and handed over to BC Ambulance Service.
The injured biker sustained serious spinal injuries and was transferred to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, Fernie SAR reported on social media this afternoon.
