Elkford students take part in Moose Hide Campaign

On Thursday, May 12, Elkford Secondary School (ESS) participated in the ‘Moose Hide Campaign.’

This initiative was started to bring awareness to the violence that women and children face, especially those of indigenous descent.

Students and staff participated in making signs to bring awareness to the walk, and at 11:15 a.m., the whole school walked towards Rocky Mountain Elementary School in a show of solidarity.

The students at the elementary school were waiting outside to show their support.

This walk was courageously led by local Grade 7 student Calan Bates, showcasing his drumming.

This year’s Moose Hide Campaign at ESS was planned by Alexis Corris, a Grade 12 student and Brenda Newlove.
