Bob FERGUSON

Bob was predeceased by his parents Molly and Robert, sisters Margaret and Frances, his youngest daughter Tara, and son-in-law Bill. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma; daughters Missy (Trevor) and Tracy (Alan); son-in-law Dana; grandchildren Alicia, Caiti (Ross), Allie, Brayden, Rachel (Brad), Michaela, and Dalton; great-grandchildren Kinslee, Leyton, and Johnny, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

While living in England, he went to the school for the deaf with his sisters Margaret and Frances where he learned to communicate using his hands. In 1951, along with Molly and Margaret, Bob immigrated from England to Fernie. He started working at a young age at the planer in the mill, in forestry, and tying steel.

Bob and Norma were married November 12th, 1966 at the United Church in Jaffray. He had numerous jobs, including working for BC Hydro and tying steel. His favorite job was felling trees all over southern BC. In 1982, he finished carpentry school and started working as a carpenter all around the Kootenays. In the early 2000’s, Bob started driving for Kootenay Taxi before retiring in 2010.

Bob loved playing darts, travelling all over BC and Alberta to play, including in the BC Senior Summer Games. He loved travelling on his Harley. Artistically inclined, Bob loved poetry, drawing, carving, singing, and dancing. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and his mustache.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Rocky Mountain Village for their care and kindness over the last 18 months.
