Ecstasy seized in Kimberley
On Friday Nov 2, Kimberley RCMP seized seven tablets of ecstasy as a result of information received. Police were alerted to the fact a subject was or had been attempting to sell ecstasy to high school students. Within a very short time, police identified a subject, made an arrest and seized the tablets.
The 17-year-old male from Kimberley was released and will appear in court, Dec 3, charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking are being recommended. As part of his release he must abide by a number of conditions which include, not going near Selkirk Secondary School, not to possess a cell phone/Blackberry or other electronic communication device. He is not a student of Selkirk Secondary School.
In 10 days, Kimberely/Cranbrook RCMP arrested three persons involved in the drug trade in the Kimberley area. Two of the subjects attended court charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Jason Dimma, who was arrested Oct 31, was held in custody and he pleaded to several offences on Nov 5 and was sentenced to nine months in jail.
Murray Simonson was arrested Oct 24, his case has been adjourned to Nov 19.
