Effective immediately, the Stage 2 watering restriction is lifted for the Village of Radium Hot Springs.

The standard Stage 1 restrictions remain in effect until Sept. 30 per the village’s Water Use and Conservation Bylaw.

Stage 1 watering restrictions are as follows:

1. Even numbered civic addresses may water on even numbered calendar days between the hours of 5 to 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to Midnight.
2. Odd numbered civic addresses may water on odd numbered calendar days between the hours of 5 to 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to Midnight.

The restrictions of 2023 were the first -ever extraordinary restrictions for Radium Hot Springs and village administration learned a great deal during this period.

The restrictions were due to high turbidity coupled with high summer demand and the strain this put on the village’s water treatment infrastructure and staff.

While turbidity remains high, as we look toward fall, it is anticipated that demand should taper off.
