Columbia Valley RCMP Report
This past week, April 1 through April 7, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 57 calls for service. The following is a Summary of some of the file our officers responded to.
Truck stolen from Windermere area
On April 7, Columbia Valley RCMP was made aware of a vehicle that was stolen sometime overnight. The vehicle was stolen from a property in the Windermere area and is described as a 2011 Chevrolet three-quarter ton club cab, white in colour. The stolen vehicle has larger tires and a headache rack. Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for this vehicle and to call the local RCMP detachment if located.
Fight in Fairmont area under investigation
On April 6, Columbia Valley RCMP was dispatched to a report of two people physically fighting in the area of Fairmont Hot Springs. Members attended the scene and located both parties, now separated. It is believed the two got into an altercation after one asked the other to put their dogs on a leash. This matter is currently under investigation.
Officers called to hospital for suspected fentanyl overdose
On April 4, Columbia Valley RCMP was called to the hospital as they were dealing with a patient who had just overdosed on what was believed to be fentanyl. The patient was provided medical care and was recovering. The patient was able to speak with members and advised they were intentionally using illicit drugs but was unaware it was fentanyl.
