The 2024 BC/AB Wakesurf Provincial Championships kicked off Saturday morning at Lake Koocanusa, presented by SWS Marine Group.

“This is our second year hosting the Provincials in this area and we continue to focus on creating community and having fun, while supporting athletes of all levels” said Waterski and Wake Sport BC Wake Surf Committee member Loree Duczek.

“We have teamed up with Waterski and Wake Alberta this year to host a join Provincial Championship and as a result have some of the top riders from across B.C. and Alberta showcasing their talents tomorrow.”

The Provincial Championships will be held on Saturday, August 9 at Koocanusa Village.

The event is open to the public and there will be a stream of the rides shown throughout the day on the Event Trailer screen.  Sponsors will have a few booths, there will be some yard games and a food truck on site during the day, and there will be entertainment by Dan Gordon between 6:30 and 9 p.m.

“We’d like to thank all the sponsors who’ve stepped up to make the day possible. We couldn’t have done it without them,” added Duczek. The event title sponsor is SWS Marine Group and in addition to the wake surf competition, there will be boat demos throughout the day based out of the Village Marina.
