Sparwood Chamber of Commerce
The Sparwood Chamber of Commerce addressed Council on concerns of the current remediation and construction costs of the Visitor Information Centre building.

BUSINESS
Development Variance Permit for 1500 Sparwood Heights Drive (DVP2024-013)
Council authorized staff to issue notice to affected properties of its intent to consider development variance permit DVP2024-013, to vary the requirements of the district’s Subdivision Servicing Bylaw regarding road, water, sanitary, storm, lighting, and gas infrastructure locations, intersection separation, storm pipe material, and fibre optic design for Phase 1b of Westwood Heights development.
An informal public hearing will be scheduled for January 21, 2025.
Strategic Priorities – December Update
Council removed Branding and after discussion added Downtown Zone Expansion to council’s next items. The updated Strategic Priorities Chart is available on our website.
Temporary Use Permit Application for 481 Pine Avenue (TUP2024-004)
Council authorized staff to issue notice of its intent to consider the issuance of a temporary use permit TUP2024-004, to allow a temporary office trailer at 481 Pine Avenue (Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting yard).
An informal public hearing will be scheduled for January 21, 2025.
MUNICIPAL OFFICE CLOSURE NOTICE
This holiday season the Municipal Office will be closed to the public on the following days:
- December 26 and 27
- December 31 at 2:00 pm
- January 2 and 3
