Edgewater Water Quality Advisory rescinded

The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) this afternoon reported the Water Quality Advisory (WQA) for the Edgewater Water System has been rescinded and normal water consumption can resume.

The WQA was issued in February after turbidity levels spiked as a result of ice build-up and fluctuations in the freeze-thaw cycle. The turbidity levels have returned to more normal conditions, so the WQA has been lifted.

“Our operators continuously monitor the conditions, and turbidity levels may rise again as conditions warm up and spring run-off gets fully underway. Should these seasonal turbidity levels rise again, a Water Quality Advisory may be re-issued at that time,” the RDEK noted in a public update.
