Search warrant leads to seizure of stolen vehicles
In the early afternoon of July 8, Elk Valley Regional RCMP General Investigative Service (GIS) team with support from General Duty members attended a residence in the 1100 block of Matevic Road in Sparwood to execute a search warrant in order to recover stolen property known to be on the property at that location.
The registered owner of the property was cooperative with police and the items, a Ram 3500 Mega Cab dually truck and a Harley Davidson motorcycle, were seized by police for further investigation.
The two vehicles had been reported stolen from a residence in Calgary in late 2024.
“Elk Valley GIS will continue to support Calgary Police Service as our investigation is in its infancy. Elk Valley Regional RCMP appreciate the effort and support of Crowsnest Pass RCMP, who were involved at the outset of this investigation,” said S/Sgt. Svend Nielsen, Elk Valley RCMP Detachment commander.
“This event demonstrates the ongoing cooperation of both border RCMP detachments to reduce crime in our communities. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information can be released at this time.”
